The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII participated in a series of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Course for the public and private sectors organized by the Office of the Civil Defense of Caraga Region.

The said training program was conducted in six sessions by way of virtual teleconferencing sessions via Zoom Platform. In each of these occasions, a geologist from the Office acted as resource speaker to discuss the Rain-induced Landslide and Subsidence Hazard and provide an overview and timeline of the National Geohazard Mapping and Assessment Program of the DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau. This capacity building initiative intends to capacitate all stakeholders in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in pursuit of achieving our shared vision of a safer, adaptive and disaster-resilient communities toward sustainable development through whole of society approach by engaging the public sector employees or workers in government service pursuant to Section 14 of Republic Act No. 10121 (Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010) and private sector individuals pursuant to Rule 8, Section 1 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the aforementioned law.
