In keeping with the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration and as part of the continuing education program of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, a select number of personnel took part in mine tours at Greenstone Resources Corporation (GRC) and Agata Mining Ventures, Inc. (AMVI) on March 8, 2024.

At GRC in Tubod, Surigao del Norte, the MGB ROXIII personnel were heartily welcomed and serenaded by Ms. Jesalyn A. Guingguing, Director for Tenement, Compliance and Environment of TVI Resource Development Philippines Inc., and Mr. Kahlil Pope B. Tabernero, Community Relations Office Manager of GRC, together with the staff. After the short orientation and presentation on the project background and the featured women personnel of GRC, the MGB ROXIII personnel were given a tour of Hininang (The Ruins), Central Waste Storage Facility and Processing/Mill Plant by Mr. Ivan Rey P. Nakila, Pollution Control Office Supervisor and Engr. Erthelgin Joy A. Jarabe, Tenement Officer.

In the afternoon, the mine tour carried on at AMVI in Tubay, Agusan del Norte where the MGB ROXIII personnel were welcomed with an invigorating dance number by AMVI women personnel.  It was followed by a presentation on the mine rehabilitation efforts and environmental and social development contributions of AMVI by Ms. Sheilah Mae F. Arcala, Community Relations Office Superintendent and Administrator of Mabakas Techno Demo Farm, Inc.

Despite the cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers, the MGB ROXIII personnel took delight in touring scenic spots at AMVI such as Administrative Grounds, YEBO Coastal Area, MA06 Rehabilitated Area, MMT PEAK, Bae Lawanen Ornamental Garden, Vines View Deck, MV5 View Deck and Boogieman’s View Deck with Ms. Arcala and Mr. Nakila.  The day concluded with a little feast of delectable snacks, photo opportunities and sharing of insights with the AMVI and GRC staff.
