The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII distributed the  Certificates of Approval for 2024 Safety and Health Program of the Caraga minerals industry during the first regular meeting of the year of the Caraga Mine Safety and Health Council (CMSHC) on January 27, 2024 at the MGB Regional Office No. XIII Training Center in Surigao City.

The Safety and Health Program was developed as a comprehensive plan to ensure that mine workers have a fair, secure, and humane working environment through the promotion of safety and health culture, enforcement of safety and health rules and regulations, participation in trainings and the development of human resources, and establishment of an efficient system of monitoring, inspection, and investigations to improve safety and health. The Certificates of Approval were distributed to the following mining companies, mineral processing plants and industrial sand and gravel companies and crushing plants:

  • Hinatuan Mining Corporation
  • Pacific Cement Philippines, Inc. (Tenement A & B Project)
  • Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation
  • Kafugan Mining Inc.
  • Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation
  • Silangan Mindanao Mining Company, Inc.
  • Krominco Inc.
  • CTP Construction and Mining Corporation (Dahican and Adlay Project)
  • Brightgreen Resources Corporation
  • Mindanao Mineral Processing and Refining Corporation
  • Philsaga Mining Corporation
  • Prima Lumina Gold Mining Corporation
  • Cagdianao Mining Corporation
  • Pacific Nickel Philippines, Inc.
  • Adfil Corporation (Pianing and Mabini Project)
  • Adnama Mining Resources, Inc.
  • Carrascal Nickel Corporation
  • Century Peak Corporation (Casiguran Nickel Project)

The Certificate of Approval was issued under the conditions specified in the DENR Administrative Order No. 2010-21, the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 7942, otherwise known as the Philippine Mining Act of 1995, subject to monitoring and validation by the MGB Central Office or MGB Regional Office No. XIII.

Regional Director Larry M. Heradez, together with Engr. Francis Glenn N. Suante, Chief of Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division; Engr. Ritche B. Banacia, Chief of Mine Safety and Health Section; and Engr. Joel B. Reyes, CMSHC President, facilitated the distribution of the said certificates to the abovementioned mining companies.

The Certificates of Approval of other companies are yet to be issued after the thorough evaluation of their submitted 2024 Safety and Health Program.
