MGB ROXIII conducts Webinar on Safe Spaces Act

In keeping with its continuing education program on Gender and Development, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII conducted a Webinar on Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as the Safe Spaces Act, on October 21, 2021 via Zoom Platform. The Gender and Development Focal Point System spearheaded the said webinar which was participated by the employees. OIC-Regional Director Larry M. Heradez delivered an inspirational message at the start of the program.  “This webinar is also part of our continuing education program on Gender and Development… Educating women is indispensable because it enables them to play a vital role and participate in nation building and all-inclusive development. DENR Assistant Secretary Nonita Caguioa visits Surigao del Norte mines

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Assistant Secretary for Finance, Information Systems and Mining Concerns, Engr. Nonita S. Caguioa, visited Surigao del Norte mines on October 4 to 5, 2021. To get a glimpse of mining operations in the province, Asec. Caguioa, together with MGB Caraga OIC-Regional Director Larry M. Heradez and select personnel, visited Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) in Barangay Taganito, Municipality of Claver on October 4 and Greenstone Resources Corporation (GRC) in Barangay Cawilan, Municipality of Tubod on October 5. At TMC, Asec. Caguioa observed the best mining and environmental practices that the company has implemented and sustained. TMC Resident Mine Manager, Engr. Artemio E. Valeroso, and key personnel took Asec. MGB holds Information and Communications Technology Strategic Planning Workshop for FY 2022-2025

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau held a four-day Information and Communications Technology Strategic Planning Workshop for FY 2022-2025 on September 20-21 and 23-24, 2021 through the MGB Virtual Platform, Microsoft Teams. The workshop aimed to finalize the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Plan for FY 2022 and Proposed ICT Plan for FY 2023-2025.  Information Technology Personnel, Information and Communications Technology Focal Persons, Planning Officers, Budget Officers, Property Custodians, Heads of Bids and Awards Committee Secretariat, Document Controllers, Information Technology Specialists, and Computer Maintenance Technologists participated in the said workshop.  The opening part of the workshop was the presentation of the 2020 MGB ICT Accomplishments and Projects Update. DENR Assistant Secretary Joan Lagunda interfaces with MGB ROXIII

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Assistant Secretary for Field Operations – Mindanao and Legislative Affairs, Dr. Joan A. Lagunda, visited the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII in Surigao City on September 22, 2021. During her visit, Asec. MGB ROXIII attends inauguration and ceremonial turnover of Family Life and Livelihood Training Center

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII attended the inauguration and ceremonial turnover of the Family Life and Livelihood Training Center on September 21, 2021 in General Luna, Siargao Islands, Surigao del Norte. The facility underscores the importance of education, spirituality and values.  It aims to promote activities such as, but not limited to, the conduct of family development sessions, values formation, youth and child development activities, early childcare and nutrition programs, skills training and livelihood programs and social protection and social services. The realization of the said project was a collaborative effort of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte, through the efforts of the former Governor and present Provincial Administrator Sol F. Ceremonial Groundbreaking and Contract Signing for the Enhancement of the Caraga Regional Wildlife Rescue Center: Fostering wildlife preservation

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga Regional Office, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Office No. XIII and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Kitcharao, in partnership with the Caraga minerals industry through the Caraga Mine Environmental Management Council, Inc. (CMEMCI), took part in the Ceremonial Groundbreaking and Contract Signing for the Enhancement of the Caraga Regional Wildlife Rescue Center on September 2, 2021 at Lantawan Ecopark in Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte. MGB spearheads Virtual and Offsite SHES and Management Systems Audit of Caraga mining firms

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau spearheaded the Virtual and Offsite Safety and Health, Environmental and Social Development (SHES) and Management Systems Audit of Caraga mining firms on August 2 to 10, 2021 via Microsoft Teams. The SHES Audit Team of the MGB Central Office and the Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division (MSESDD) of MGB Regional Office No. XIII took part in the said audit. MGB ROXIII plays a part in 24th Caraga Business Conference

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII played a part in the 24th Caraga Business Conference which was conducted by the Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., in coordination with the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte and City Government of Surigao, via Zoom Platform on August 17 to 19, 2021. The theme of the conference is Business beyond COVID-19: The Path to the Next New Normal. It aims to compel the imminent restructuring of the global economic order and the need to determine the scale and complexity of action required at the state and business levels amidst a health crisis of immense proportion. MGB ROXIII participates in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Course

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII participated in a series of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training Course for the public and private sectors organized by the Office of the Civil Defense of Caraga Region. The said training program was conducted in six sessions by way of virtual teleconferencing sessions via Zoom Platform. In each of these occasions, a geologist from the Office acted as resource speaker to discuss the Rain-induced Landslide and Subsidence Hazard and provide an overview and timeline of the National Geohazard Mapping and Assessment Program of the DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
