In an effort to create a roadmap for the implementation of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ information, education and communication (IEC) activities anchored to the thrusts and priority programs of Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga and to ensure that the strategies and interventions are effective and sustainable in order to achieve the behavioural change desired for Caraga Region, the DENR Regional Office No. XIII through its Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group conducted the Orientation cum Consultation on the Creation of DENR-EMB-MGB Caraga Integrated IEC Action Plan for CY 2024 on January 26, 2024 at the DENR Regional Learning Center in Barangay Ambago, Butuan City.
The activity aimed to remove communication barriers identified within the respective field offices and provide recommendations/solutions to improve communication strategies and interventions. It was attended by Information Officers, Youth Desk Officers and their alternates from DENR, Environmental Management Bureau, Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices and Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices in Caraga Region.
At the activity, the Priority Programs and Directives of Sec. Yulo Loyzaga were presented and the Review of the CY 2023 Activities, Programs, Challenges and Opportunities was carried out. It was then followed by the Workshop/ Consultation/Creation of the CY 2024 Integrated IEC Action Plan and the presentation of outputs. Before the activity drew to a close, the participants were awarded with Certificates of Participation.
The Integrated IEC Action Plan shall serve as a document guide to communication strategies of the DENR, EMB and MGB Caraga Regional Offices throughout the year.
