With the dramatic shift in the use of digital technologies and platforms due to the pandemic, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau held the Virtual Training Program with theme Strengthening Communications to a Better Normal on July 13 to 16, 2021 via Zoom Platform.
The said training program aimed to enhance the communication skills of the participants and equip them with necessary skills that are vital to virtual event management, website and social media management and crafting and delivery of presentations.
Spearheaded by the Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division (MEIPD) of MGB Central Office, the training was attended by Economists, Information Officers, Information Technology Officers and Planning Officers of MGB Central Office and Regional Offices.
The four-day training program featured the following topics:
- How to Organize a Virtual Event in the Philippines by Ms. Gen Lee
- Organizing Webinars via Microsoft Teams by Mr. Jay Nebrao
- Photo and Video Editing by Mr. Jeffrey Brylle Estigoy
- Public Speaking and Presentation Skills by Mr. Joey E. Reyes
- Social Media Management by Mr. Neil Dimapilis
- Joomla Management by Mr. Bryan Mico Lilio
Noted in their respective fields of expertise, the lecturers delivered well-crafted and straightforward presentations as well as shared valuable tips that resulted in very engaging discussions with the participants.
A good number of hands-on exercises were given to ensure skills development and application throughout the training. Similarly, breakout rooms were conducted which served as venues for interaction, discussion and collaboration among the participants. The training culminated in a Closing Plenary. In its gracious efforts to reinforce the participants’ learning, the MEIPD Team also provided the participants with a soft copy of the post-training toolkit.
