
The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIlI joined the Tree Growing Activity in celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary on September 17, 2025 at Puting Bato, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
This year’s anniversary celebration carried the theme ‘Bawat Lingkod Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan!’
Spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Caraga, the activity highlighted the shared commitment of partner agencies to environmental stewardship and public service.
At the program, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Josh AJ Jose A. Chin delivered the Welcome Remarks on behalf of Cabadbaran City Mayor Judy Chin-Amante. Messages were also given by CSC Caraga Regional Director Winston L. Plaza, DENR Caraga OIC-Regional Executive Director Maritess M. Ocampo, PENR Officer Adelaida R. Borja, and OIC-CENR Officer Hernan P. Ramirez. These leaders emphasized the importance of collective action in preserving the environment. The program also included a recognition ceremony for partner agencies and a demonstration on the proper planting of seedlings. CSC Caraga Assistant Regional Director Christopher C. Mabale concluded the program with his Closing Message. The event brought together 600 tree growers from 36 agencies, planting 1,500 indigenous hardwood and fruit tree seedlings. Through this initiative, the MGB Regional Office No. XIII collaborated with fellow government agencies in advocating for environmental preservation and sustainable development — staying true to its mandate: ‘Mining shall be pro-people and pro-environment in sustaining wealth creation and improved quality of life.
