In celebration of the 125th Founding Anniversary of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, in cooperation with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Employees Association Region XIII Chapter, conducted a series of talks on November 30, 2023 at the MGB Regional Office No. XIII Training Center in Surigao City.

In keeping with the theme of this year’s MGB Founding Anniversary which is 125 Years of Shaping Sustainable Futures: Upholding Prudent Management of Nation’s Mineral Resources, the activity aimed to remind MGB Regional Office No. XIII employees of their duty to preserve the public’s trust and confidence in government by demonstrating the highest standards of professional competence and seeking the advancement of the public good at all times while carrying out their regulatory duty as stewards of the country’s mineral resources.

Mr. Mantala talked about spirituality in the workplace and expounded on the spiritual, professional, mental, financial, physical and psycho-social aspects of work-life balance. He stressed that our productivity depends on how we balance our work and life.

In the same way, Ms. Mangyan walked the participants through mental health awarenessShe discussed aboutMental Health, R.A.11036 (Philippine Mental Health Law), Mental Health Services, Good Mental Health and Ways to Maintain Positive Mental Health.  Moreover, Mr. Zam focused on discussions about self-care and its dimensions. He also guided the participants in crafting their respective 2024 Self-Care Plan and Daily Positive Affirmations. Before the activity drew to a close, Regional Director Larry M. Heradez recognized the invaluable contributions of the resource speakers and appreciated the keen participation of the employees.  Lastly, Engr. Francis Glenn N. Suante, Chief of the Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division, delivered the Closing Remarks.  Engr. Suante thanked the MGB ROXIII Management and Staff and the MGBEA Region XIII Chapter Officers for their collaborative efforts which led to the overall success of the activity.
