MGB ROXIII chemists take part in 34th Philippine Chemistry Congress

Chemists of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII took part in the 34th Philippine Chemistry Congress on May 28-30, 2019 at the Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center in Lahug, Cebu City. With the theme “CHEMbisyon 2019: Kimiko para sa Sariling Bayan,” this year’s congress reflects the collective aspiration of Filipino chemists to be given job opportunities in the country, be it in the academe, industry or any related field. It emphasizes the essential role of chemistry and chemical practitioners in nation building as it calls different sectors to bond together and develop viable solutions to challenges they are facing as a nation. MGB ROXIII carries out 1:50,000 scale Groundwater Resource Assessment and Mapping in Malimono, Surigao del Norte

            In line with the National Groundwater Resource Mapping and Assessment Program of the DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau, a technical team from the Geosciences Division of MGB Regional Office No. XIII carried out the 1:50,000 scale Groundwater Resource Mapping and Assessment in Malimono, Surigao del Norte from March 18 to 30, 2019.             This project is the next phase after the completion of the 1:250,000 scale, province-wide Groundwater Resource Mapping and Assessment in 2018. MGB ROXIII supports 2019 National Women’s Month Celebration

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII supported the various activities of the 2019 National Women’s Month Celebration. It took part in the 9th General Assembly, Opening of the Women’s Month Celebration and Press Conference spearheaded by the Regional Development Council – Regional Gender and Development Committee on March 1, 2019 at VCDU Prince Hotel and Grand Convention Center in Butuan City. Similarly, MGB RO No. XIII personnel attended the RGADC-led Women Summit during the International Women’s Day Celebration on March 8, 2019 at Butuan Grand Palace Hotel in Butuan City. MGB Region 13 Joins the 2015 Peace Caravan in Caraga Region

The Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM) – Caraga Chapter held its Annual General Assembly on August 29, 2015 at the Copper Room of Hotel Tavern in Surigao City. MGBEA Caraga Chapter’s Handog Pasasalamat: An offering of praise and thanksgiving

In deep appreciation of recently obtained distinctions, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Employees Association (MGBEA) Caraga Chapter held its thanksgiving dubbed Handog Pasasalamat on September 7, 2015 at the MGB Training Center in Surigao City. The heart of the gathering was the Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Monsignor Terry Iral. In his homily, Monsignor Iral exhorted the MGB ROXIII Management and Staff to actualize their roles as civil servants and stewards of the country’s mineral resources. Headed by the MGBEA Officers, the MGB ROXIII personnel offered praise and thanksgiving to the Lord for all the guidance, protection and blessings that they have received. MGB ROXIII takes part in the Workshop for the Updating of the Caraga Regional Risk Profile

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII, represented by Ms. Elaine L. Galido, Senior Geologist, and Ms. Liza T. Pacete, Geologist II, took part in the three-day workshop for the updating of the Caraga Regional Risk Profile on September 8 to 10, 2015 at the Executive Function Hall of Goat-2-geder Hotel and Restaurant in Butuan City. The said workshop was conducted by the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (RDRRMC). The Caraga Regional Risk Profile workshop aims to update the Regional Risk Profile which was crafted in 2012 incorporating the MGB’s 1:10,000 scale geohazard maps, NEDA’s vulnerability assessment and other relevant information. This serves as the planning environment of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan (DRRMP) and a guide in the identification of the strategies, programs, projects and activities towards the goal of reducing the impact of hazards (Rationale and Objective, Caraga Risk Profile 2012).
